The County Health Department has issued an alert that all animals should have an up to date rabies vaccine due to the spread of rabies in parts of Colorado including El Paso County.
Even if your vaccine is up to date, but your animal has an encounter with a skunk, bat or other animal that could be carrying rabies, it is advisable to get a rabies booster done as soon as possible.
Animals that need a rabies vaccine include: horses, cattle, sheep, goats, dogs and cats.
If you have any questions, please call your regular veterinarian.
